These heroes often face immense mental, physical, and social tolls from traumatic calls, including PTSD, high stress, and the need for non-judgmental decompression. The organization helps them manage this through free retreats focused on nature, relaxation, reflection, and healing activities such as hiking, fishing, and quiet time.

Founded by Liz Bartholomew, inspired by her retired firefighter husband Joe's positive experience recovering in Wisconsin's Northwoods, all retreats are held in peaceful natural settings (primarily the Northwoods of Wisconsin). The organization is fully volunteer run with no paid employees, ensuring donations go directly to retreat sponsorships and operations.

Rise to the Challenge builds sustainable monthly support to
sponsor more retreats and cover ongoing costs.

We are recruiting:

• 100 people to pledge $10 per month for one year.

• 100 people to pledge $20 per month for one year.

This creates reliable, recurring funding for retreat sponsorships.
